Triathlon RunnerSports nutrition is my passion and is the science behind how nutrition can influence sporting performance. Most top athletes utilise a sports dietitian to assist them in their sporting performance. Indirectly because if you choose food well, you will train well, and if you train well, you will compete well. Strategic nutrition choices can also impact performance directly. And this is any athletes dream. Even if you are a weekend warrior you must consider sports nutrition.

Sports Dietitian’s are a crucial part of an athletes training schedule because exercise, sport, and training all drain the body of fuel and liquid. I usually make the analogy of our body being like a vehicle. The more you run your car, the more fuel you need, and the better quality the car the more fine tuned the oil and petrol needs to be to better manage the cars engine running and capacity. Very similar to an athletes’ body. To get the body going we need to add fuel, and the right type of fuel to get the best performance.

Sports Nutrition can get you on the right track by making training feel that little bit easier, and to assist you on your road to better fitness and improved performance. If you are highly trained, specific nutritional adaptations will help to push the body even further.
